Denver claims they have no interest in Romo. Which in NFL speak means we made a call 2 seconds after Dallas was eliminated from the playoffs to inquire about Romo's availability!

Romo apparently has made it clear he has no interest in backing up Dak Prescott beyond this season makes this statement kinda all about looking good He couldn't clear out of the practice palace quick enough could he...

I believe they will try to patch up their O-line in free agency and the draft. I don't see them being a player in any QB pick -ups. Now if Romo is released they might give him the smell test, but I don't believe that Romo will go somewhere he has to compete for the starting job. I'm thinking the Jets are the team that might jump on him as a bridge QB to a player yet drafted

RIP Tony Romo's Cowboys career. You were a worthy rival, a class act, and one tough son of a bitch. I hope you land far outside the NFC East, preferably the AFC, and get one last shot at a Lombardi Trophy. Unless he wants to be a backup and JJ gets a lot more stupid than he already is, how would Romo end up in the NFC East barring season endng injury to one of the 4 starters of course???

But will Romo want to go to the Jets? I hear Hackenberg has been working with a QB coach for the last few months from a pier in Hawaii. He's almost found the ocean. The Jets hope that in 4 more seasons, he'll work his way up to throwing it in the Hackensack River at about a 55% clip. I never realized that the NY Jets play next to the Hackensack River. Then they drafted Hackenberg, who was sacked a lot at PSU. These jokes write themselves. I got a picture of some poor whale with a football stuck in it's blowhole ala Seinfeld flashing across my brain. "Stand back surfer dudes., I'm a marine biologist!

Whatever happens... He won't go anywhere until after June 1. The $19M would be split up over 2017 and 2018. I'm sure Romo won't like that.

That's the remaining bonus moneys that got kicked down the road with all the contract redo's. The only way it would change would be if they redid it to facilitate a trade.

I wonder if they can do a post dated a trade like they can with Jun 1 cuts? You know the deal where they cut they guy immediately so he can start looking for another team but the actual cut isn't effective until after Jun 1 to reduce the cap hit.

You know the deal where they cut they guy immediately so he can start looking for another team but the actual cut isn't effective until after Jun 1 to reduce the cap hit. I'm just hoping they can do a trade at all. And even with that, Jerry won't trade him somewhere he doesn't want to go. I don't care how "promising" a team like Buffalo might be. If Romo doesn't want to go there, Jerry won't do a deal. I still think the best place for him would be either Arizona or Houston. Both places have everything in place except a legitimate threat at QB. I don't know if Jerry could build up interest from either of them to trade a conditional 5th... but you can't tell me Houston doesn't become a immediate favorite in the AFC with Romo there.

With that D and Romo everyone would make them the AFC favorite but is Houston willing to trade???
