Petty was always great live. He and Mike Campbell made a great team. Still pissed off at Tom for not taking better care of himself, cheated himself and us of all the music he had left in him

The Traveling Wilburys were all junkies except for maybe Jeff Lynne. Probably why he is still alive. I have no idea why Dylan is still alive. Cigarettes and heroin? Should have checked out a long time ago..

Sarah's version was good, but nobody will ever top Yvonne Elliman as Mary Magdalene. The raw emotion is just amazing. When she toured with Clapton, she also used to do "Can't Find My Way Home" that was epic.

saw them live numerous times, always put on a good show other than Ray Davies having this nasty habit of forgetting the lyrics.

greatest line I ever heard about Journey, ex-girlfriend told me she refused to be a fan of a band if the lead singer had better hair than her!

Watched a really good documentary last night on HBO. Stax: Soulsville U.S.A.
Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes, Steve Cropper, Sam & Dave, Booker T. and the MGs, Carla Thomas, "Duck" Dunn. Told myself I was going to watch the first episode, ended up watching all four episodes and finally went to bed a little after 2 am.
Great documentary and incredible live archival footage of some of the performances. Otis Redding's coming out show at Monterrey Pop Festival was astounding. The way he took an initially doubtful crowd of hippies and won them over by the end of his set.
