With all the ruckus about Paul's release of "Now and Then" which I absolutely hated. Most of the vocals are muddy, the harmonies suck.
I have been listening to a lot real Beatles. This is "Two of Us" from the Naked version of Let It Be.

Watched a documentary on the making of the "Born to Run" album the other night. It was fascinating. Always loved Bruce's word play in the first two albums but he intentionally cut back on the run on lyrics for this album and I have to admit...it worked! It took him 6 months to finish the album.
And Jungleland was the perfect close to the album.

Sister Helen Prejean is still alive and at 84 still advocating abolishment of the death penalty. Amazing woman, still counseling death row inmates as well as victims families. Considering the crap that went on in Alabama this past week, and the official declaration from the state that the execution went just exactly as expected and was a rousing success(still puzzled over the phrase rousing success when discussing killing someone). From what I read it took almost 40 minutes for the man to die and he was jerking around on the gurney a good portion of the time. If the American Veterinarian Medical Society has declared Nitrogen Hypoxia verboten for euthanizing animals because of cruelty concerns, how is it possibly OK to use it for execution? |

The look on Brandi Carlile's face in the crowd, absolutely transfixed, as she should have been. It's great to see Tracy getting the attention again that she always deserved. That song was always the perfect vehicle for those lyrics, absolutely genius! |
