They (Kim and Kelly Deal) lived in Dayton...Oakwood actually, a burb of Dayton, and of course, I went to UD. They used to hang out where I was a waiter when I was Freshman (92-93) and they were cool as shit. Used to hang out with us after hours.

Dickshot, I know you are in the camp of "they stopped rocking after 'Ten'", but this is a true exception. The whole band just going nuts, beating the shit out of their instruments for 2.5 mins. Pretty perfect.

Don't know the rest of their stuff, but we used to play this as loud as possible back in the day.

I mentioned I saw Nine Inch Nails a few weeks ago for the first time. They ayes this song and I had totally forgotten it existed. After the show I was talking to my friend on the way out and he also mentioned this as the highlight. I've had it in my head for weeks now:

A place called Damon's...which was one of the original sports bar type places around here with the multiple giant TV's. We (the staff) often stayed after we closed and got shitfaced until dawn on the company dime, and they stayed and partied with us many times. There was a bar up street called Katz, where this awesome cover band The Menus frequently played, and we all went up there a lot too. Good times. I miss college...except for the being broke part.

Looks like that might have been the first Lollapalooza? 1991 Location: North America Dates: July 18, 1991 – August 28, 1991 Main Stage: Jane's Addiction, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Living Colour, Nine Inch Nails, Fishbone, Ice T & Body Count, Butthole Surfers, Rollins Band, EBN, Violent Femmes

That is a good tune. Still, my NIN go-to is always Wish... That kicks ass. I liked them a lot more than I expected to. I saw them at the first Lollapalooza. They stole the show. Jane's was actually kind of disappointing. I think Perry Ferrell wasn't all right that night. 2nd Lollapalooza was fucking awesome. Aside from when I saw Black Crowes 15 years ago in a bar that held 250 people, it was the best show I ever went to, and I went to hundreds in my younger days.

Oh, you know where I stand on The Black Crowes. I've seen them maybe 15-20 times. They are still fucking awesome, too. Chris Robinson is just incredible and always puts on a great show. Last fall, I saw the Crowes on a Friday and Pearl Jam was the next night. The Crowes were so good on Friday that Pearl Jam was a disappointment the next night.

I recall our conversation that day where I told you I would leave as soon as they did "Hurt" to beat the traffic. It was pretty funny because that was the encore, too. Heard that on the way to the car and never sat in any traffic. Perfect.

My wife and I went while we were still dating. This guy I used to work with, his dad owned a little bar just outside Indy, and he tipped us off that The Black Crowes would be playing at this little dive under the name Pigs in a Blanket, and we went with him and his girlfriend. The guy's dad was close friends with one of the Robinson's, and I guess they were staying with him on their way to somewhere else on their tour at the time, and they played this little bar which had a 250 person capacity as a favor to their friend. Rocked the fucking house. It was awesome.

Probably the most fun night I've ever had. The concert, the night, just everything. It was perfect.

And of course if you're my age, you remember eating acid, hitting the after hours raves, and hearing this little diddy at most every one of them...
