That was #4 for me... and the first in a 3,000 seat theater with them bringing their entire show. They brought it all... including Gene doing his levitation thing...  |

I doubt anyone here knows who Rusty Burns was. He passed away a couple of days ago from cancer. But - if you grew up around here going to local bars to see guys perform live, you saw Point Blank at least once and probably several times. Rusty was a local legend. Shook his hand once and thanked him for the music. RIP Rusty.

We saw so many great "hair" bands , some that made it to bigger things (Great White , Helix, Ratt) and some awesome others that didn't (Kick Axe, Goddo ) , but my fave was always when the Killer Dwarves would come through- drunktatstic time |

Saw some great local acts that even had moderate brushes with fame... one opened for Foghat in Dallas as a bigger bar down there. Once, we saw a bunch of kids from Arlington there that tore up AC/DC and Black Sabbath like no one. Guitar player was a kid and raw as hell but absolutely wailed and the drummer kicked ass. Bought them beer because they weren't old enough to. Singer was OK... they had promise. Couple of years later saw them again at another bar locally. they had a new singer and were writing their own stuff. Really, REALLY fucking good. That band was Pantera. |
