JD USA beats a Half Way decent Turkey squad Don't know much about the Turkey squad. I'll be surprised if Team USA wins any of their group stage fixtures though...including Ghana.

I think Donovan should have been included, but that's faaaaar from the reason tUSA is gonna be eliminated at the group stage.

No, Donovan wouldnt be the reason, but pretty ridiculous he isnt one of the 23 I wouldnt have a problem with it, if i didnt know for sure that it was a personal thing with Klinsman, and less about soccer...Klinsman hates the guy

Yes, absolutely, but dont put it past Klinsman to select some other scrub They held a sign at an LA Galaxy game "if there are 23 players in the US better than Landon Donovan, we better win the World Cup" Thought that was pretty clever

Klinsman's son apparently tweeted "baaaahahahahahahaha Donovan" or some shit right after it was announced. He definitely should be on the squad...somewhere. Even if you're not going to start him.

He may be an asshole, but he's their best option for improvement at these world competitions.

In case you want or need a reason to not take soccer seriously -
Cristiano Ronaldo's World Cup is being threatened by tendinosis and there's only one person to blame -- a Ghanian witch doctor.
That's right! Witch doctors are still alive and well, and more importantly they're continuing to curse people. Nana Kwaku Bonsam is described by The Guardian as Ghana's "most influential witch doctor," which is to say there are a lot of witch doctors in Ghana. There has been no comment from Ghana's least influential witch doctor, Ted.
"I am very serious about it. Last week, I went around looking for four dogs and I got them to be used in manufacturing a special spirit called Kahwiri Kapam."
We don't want to know what happens when you "manufacture" dogs, but it probably doesn't mean making small porcelain statues in their image.
"I said it four months ago that I will work on Cristiano Ronaldo seriously and rule him out of the World up or at least prevent him from playing against Ghana and the best thing I can do is to keep him out though injury.
The battle is on. Modern medicine vs. a witch doctor's curse. Everything is on the line for Portugal but thankfully the nation can rally its resources around Ronaldo, right?
"This injury can never be cured by any medic, they can never see what is causing the injury because it is spiritual. Today, it is his knee, tomorrow it is his thigh, next day it is something else."
TOMORROW IT COULD BE HIS GROIN. SOMEONE STOP THIS RIGHT NOW.

he's honest. I actually see them getting out of the group on a miracle. but this team is still 3-4 good players (or at least 2 elite scorers) away from ever frigthening anyone for 7 straight matches

Great coach, that Klinsman, what a motivator!
The United States men’s soccer team has its work cut out for it at the upcoming World Cup. The United States is in what has been dubbed this year’s “Group of Death,” containing Germany, Portugal and Ghana. It will be very difficult for the U.S. to get out of Group G, and head coach Jurgen Klinsmann isn’t expecting a miracle in Brazil. In fact, he’s being brutally honest and realistic about his club’s chances. “We cannot win the World Cup because we are not at that level yet,” Klinsmann said, according to the New York Times. “For us, we have to play the game of our lives seven times to win the tournament.”
