According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the fourth-rounder could become a third if Minnesota gets to the NFC Championship Game or a second if the Vikings win the Super Bowl this season. I am officially a Vikings fan. Come on Super Bowl! Nope. Root for them to go 0-16 this year, then the first round pick would be a top first round pick. Higher first round pick and a fourth > end of the first round pick and a second.

It’s interesting to note where Bradford ranks in Eagles history in several categories. Among quarterbacks who threw 500 passes in an Eagles uniform, he’s first in accuracy (65 percent), fourth in passer rating (86.4 percent), fourth in interception percentage (one every 38 attempts) and by far first in yards per game (266). In just one year, he’s got the eighth-most 300-yard games and the third-most games with 300 yards passing and 65 percent completion percentage.

Who would you rather have … Quarterback No. 1 or Quarterback No. 2?
Quarterback No. 1: 37-35 career record, 4-2 in the playoffs, 57 percent completion percentage, 202 passing yards per game, one TD every 26 attempts, one INT every 27 attempts.
Quarterback No. 2: 25-37-1 career record, 0-0 in the playoffs, 60 percent completion percentage, 235 passing yards per game, one TD every 29 attempts, one INT every 44 attempts.
Tough call, right? Quarterback No. 1 obviously has had far more playoff success and has a better touchdown percentage, and Quarterback No. 2 is more accurate and throws fewer interceptions
Quarterback No. 1 is Mark Sanchez, who the Broncos released and the Cowboys claimed at no cost. Quarterback No. 2 is Sam Bradford, who cost the Vikings a first-round pick and a conditional fourth-round pick.

I'm sure Ryan Fitzpatrick has similar rankings with the Jets. Both are trash.

Scary how close they are.

The flaw is that Sanchez's career stats are inflated from relative success earlier in his career. If you go off of their last four years, the stats show that Bradford is clearly the more accomplished QB:
Sanchez has *45 turnovers, 71.7 QB rating, 3.7% TD/attempt, 59.0% completion rate Bradford has 36 turnovers, 86.6 quarterback rating, 3.9% TD/attempt, 61.5% completion rate
*Sanchez has 20% more turnovers despite playing in 9 less games.

For the timing being... 1. The Eagles had given away four overpaid, underperforming players from the Chip Kelly era and dumped three large salaries in the process. I really don't consider that to be much of a loss to the team - considering those four guys weren't making much positive impact on the field. In some cases, such as Byron Maxwell's $63 million contract, it could be argued the Eagles are better off without them. The overall impact is hard to quantify but I would deem it either an insignificant adverse impact or quite possibly a net wash. 2. They gave up two and received at least one (possibly two) 4th round selections. This either nets out at best or they gave up a 4th round pick, at worst. You could essentially say they gave up one 4th round pick (conditionally). 3. They gave up a 2018 2nd round pick. Plain and simple. 4. They swapped 1st round picks (which to me is a wash) for the rights to draft the player they wanted, allegedly. When it's all said and done I'd say they gave up a 2nd round pick and a 4th round pick (conditionally). I'm not a fan of Howie Roseman, but he did a damn good job of mitigating the impact of the Carson Wentz trade. And it's all going to come down to Carson Wentz. If he blossoms into a franchise quarterback that the team can build around, then this flurry of trades was obviously a win. If he's a bust then Howie ultimately burned a 1st, a 2nd, and quite possibly a 4th round pick in the process. This Bradford deal only works if a) Wentz ends up being at least a red chip QB b) the Eagles don't shit the bed and end up giving the Browns a top 5 pick in a far stronger draft

Look what the eagles gave up for wentz.
Look what they got back.
That trade isn't too bad now.

Eagles trade CB/S Eric Rowe to Patriots for conditional 4th round pick (conditional to be a 3rd if he plays well) Eagles got more than he's worth IMO. Couldn't make the roster as a CB in a very weak defensive backfield. And was close to being cut. He should be more valuable as a safety - I'm assuming that's Belichick's plan. Wasn't he the dude getting burnt all last year?

RT Lane Johnson to start for Eagles this Sunday, despite pending PED suspension. Johnson is still awaiting the result of his B sample, which according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, is still not yet in. Johnson would have five days from that result to decide whether to appeal. So even if Johnson doesn't appeal, that five-day window would keep him eligible for Sunday's season opener.Good thing he gets to play because Jason Peters' quad doesn't look ready for game action.

The Eagles 2016 season was an interesting one what with the large turnover of players the great start, but a ladk of playmakers on offense and holes on defense that even a great job of scheming by DC Schwartz couldn't hide enough plus the fact all the other teams in division overachieved left the Eagles in 4th in a improved NFC East Best move drafting their QB for the next 10-12 seasons in Carson Wentz. Wentz like division mate Prescott is a student of the game and will keep getting better and I believe that Wentz's ceiling is higher. If Wentz's receivers were not the leaders in dropped passes they were tight up there. Worst move not finding a true #1 WR or a #2 for that matter as just slot receiver Matthews TE Ertz and Sproles were assets in the passing game Don't be surprised if the Eagles draft Clemson's Mike Williams if he is still there when they select 14th Teams off-season needs WR isd priority #1 and CB is 1A a bellcow RB which there are a few intriguing 2nd day possibilities to take pressure off Wentz would be a bonus
