But a potential road game in Denver is never fun. They don't play well there. True Nothing easy about a red-hot Chiefs team, either. They've won 11 in a row?? I was hoping for Cinci. KC is a bad match-up.

But with him?? They are title contenders. His return for this game is the key. He might even be more important to that offense than Gronk.

But the deep pass isn't part of their gameplan, really. Nor should it be.

Can Patriots Offensive Line Match Up With Chiefs Pass Rush? BOSTON (CBS) — One of the big concerns for the Patriots heading into their Divisional round matchup with Kansas City is how their offensive line will stack up against a talented Chiefs’ pass rush. The Chiefs recorded 47 sacks during the regular season, fourth in the NFL, and it was spread out among a handful of defenders, led by Justin Houston (7.5) and Tamba Hali (6.5). That could spell trouble for Tom Brady, who was hit 38 times and sacked 16 times over the final six weeks of the season. Brady is expected to have Sebastian Vollmer back protecting his blind side come Saturday night, but it’s the return of receiver Julian Edelman that will help New England the most when it comes to combating that opportunistic Kansas City pass rush. “I think Edelman coming back, [Danny] Amendola healthier and Rob Gronkowski with a few weeks to rest that knee — that helps the offense and the offensive line especially, just letting Brady get the ball out quickly,” former Patriots offensive lineman Dan Koppen told 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Toucher & Rich on Tuesday. “He’ll be able to find his guys underneath and over the middle. Those quick passes, yards after catch, moving the chains and getting the guys on defense tired, that’s what this offense is all about. That’s the best case scenario: Those guys coming back and really going into what they did for the first 11 weeks.” Edelman said Monday that he is ready to go “full throttle” after being sidelined since Week 11 with a broken bone in his foot. Koppen also touched on the Patriots’ defense going against a shorthanded Chiefs offense and the return of Peyton Manning for the Broncos: boston.cbslocal.com/2016/01/12/can-patriots-offensive-line-match-up-with-chiefs-pass-rush/

Rob Gronkowski Returns To Practice, Jones Back Out There For PatriotsJanuary 13, 2016 1:23 PM BOSTON (CBS) — Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was back at practice on Wednesday after missing Tuesday’s full pad session. Gronk didn’t speak with reporters, but told WBZ-TV’s Steve Burton he was OK as he made his way through the New England locker room. Gronkowski is scheduled to talk to the media on Thursday. Also on the field Wednesday was defensive end Chandler Jones, who has practiced every day this week after being rushed to the hospital with an undisclosed “medical emergency” early Sunday morning. Details remain scarce on the matter, but according to police logs Jones walked to the Foxboro police department on Sunday to request medical assistance and was rushed to Norwood hospital shortly after. Officers said they found drugs inside Jones’ home, just a few blocks from the station, but what that Class D substance was remains unknown. The Patriots host the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round of the playoffs Saturday afternoon at Gillette Stadium. The team will release their first practice/injury report of the week later on Wednesday. boston.cbslocal.com/2016/01/13/patriots-gronkowski-chandler-jones-practice/?cid=facebook_98.5_The_Sports_Hub

Report: Gronkowski got injection in knee on Thursday
Posted by Josh Alper on January 14, 2016, 3:58 PM EST Rob Gronkowski AP Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski wasn’t at practice on Thursday after a limited practice on Wednesday due to a knee injury.
It was the second day of practice that Gronkowski has missed this week and he reportedly spent part of Thursday receiving treatment on his knee at a Boston hospital. Adam Schefter and Mike Reiss of ESPN report that part of that treatment involved getting an injection in the knee.
Gronkowski missed a game during the regular season after injuring his knee against the Broncos in late November, but Schefter and Reiss report that the team expects he will be in the lineup against the Chiefs. They do add that the Patriots will “ultimately” need to see how his before the game on Saturday before any decision will be definite.
Playing without Gronkowski would leave the Patriots without a major offensive weapon, which will make his status closely watched between now and Saturday’s kickoff.

I don't care how shitty the Pats looked in the last few weeks of the season. They are still better than the Chefs "up there".
New England.

If anybody is interested in betting the Chiefs patriots game and you like Kansas City don't take the points. But the money one. The Chiefs have a decent chance of winning that game out right.

The offense of line has been a shambles for a month. There are rumors that Julian Edelman isn't close to 100%. Seems that Gronks knee is still a little fucky ducky..The defense has been struggling to get off the field on third down for a few weeks now. I just have a sense that this could turn out like the patriots ravens playoff game in 2010 did.

19-16 Pats Brady bailed out again by a Kicker I have a bad feeling about this game. Gronk and Edelman. They win or lose with those two. Brady is merely a complimentary piece. I think we have enough proof of that over the last 6 weeks of the regular season.

Chiefs have one horrendous loss (that they should have won) -- the Bears. They have a loss where they basically handed the win to the other team -- Broncos in KC. Their other 3 losses? All playoff teams @ GB @ Cincy @ Minnesota 3-4 vs teams with a winning record one against landry jones, the other in osweiler's first start No, it wasn't Oswieller's first start. It was Peyton's last. KC made him their bitch, and then Brock came in and got some garbage TD's. Good Luck Pat's fans. I think it will be a hard fought win either way. Edleman is the key, and I'm not expecting much outta Mackin. Even if he does play, realistically how effective can he be? High ankle spains can linger a while.

He's a Raiders fan, dont listen to him Yeah I have no idea what to expect but figure it's going to be a defensive struggle. None of the Pats fans on here are overly optimistic but the others call it a slam dunk for the Pats. Of course they that so it'll be a choke if the Chiefs win lol cant wait though

The way the weather been changing, I wouldn't count out a blizzard. Let it snow. I like the way our backs have been running the ball. Alex throwing...not so much, but he is who he is, and the past two games he has thrown some turrible balls. I do like that he isn't afraid to run when needed to.

Jeremy Maclin will try to play, but may not be able to go
Posted by Michael David Smith on January 16, 2016, 9:06 AM EST Johnathan Joseph, Jeremy Maclin AP Chiefs receiver Jeremy Maclin wants to play today at New England, but he won’t know until pregame warmups whether he can go.
Jeff Darlington of NFL Network reports that it will be an uphill battle for Maclin, who is still iffy and needs to test his ankle today.
It’s possible the Chiefs would activate Maclin as a decoy, in the hopes that his presence can open things up elsewhere on the field.
If the Chiefs have to play without Maclin, it would be a big loss. During the regular season he led the team with 87 catches for 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns; no other wide receiver on the roster even had half that production in any statistical category.

Brady’s ankle gets overlooked in Gronk injury mania
Posted by Mike Florio on January 15, 2016, 8:03 PM EST cD05ODdlNmNhY2MwMjRlZWQzNTJhM2ViYTQ1Y2VlY2YzOCZnPTc3ZTA4MTQ5MTBlNzRlYTlmOGI3MGUyYjg0MmUzY2E5 AP Some think the Patriots are deliberately overstating the injury status of tight end Rob Gronkowski. The Patriots could be doing that in order to confuse the Chiefs regarding whether and to what extent Gronkowski will be able to play.
The Patriots also could be trying to keep attention away from the status of quarterback Tom Brady’s ankle.
Brady injured the ankle 12 days ago against the Dolphins, thanks to a low hit from Miami defensive lineman Olivier Vernon. The injury was bad enough to have Brady hobbling away from his press conference after the game, but his status has been lost in the shuffle ever since.
Brady, according to the Patriots, fully participated in practice all week despite the injury, and he’s officially listed as probable. But if his mobility is limited, that could be a problem for the Patriots.
With the media and fans focusing on Gronkowski’s status, Brady is presumed to be fine. He possibly isn’t, which would give the Patriots another reason to make Gronkowski’s status seem more tenuous than it may be.
