Mike Zimmer isn’t pleased with the Rams
Posted by Mike Florio on November 8, 2015, 5:14 PM EST Teddy Bridgewater AP Vikings coach Mike Zimmer’s post-game press conference after Sunday’s win over the Rams started with a backhanded remark. And then it continued with a series of uppercuts.
Zimmer started his remarks by pointing out that the Vikings played “clean” on their side of the ball, an obvious slap at the elbow applied by Rams cornerback Lamarcus Joyner to the head of Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. Zimmer then became more direct.
Zimmer pointed to the history of Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who was suspended for a year due to the New Orleans bounty program that he initiated and maintained. The bounty scandal came to a head against the Vikings in the 2009 NFC title game, during which the Saints bruised and battered former Vikings quarterback Brett Favre.
Zimmer also said, “If we were on the street, we probably would have had a fight.”
Indeed, it almost looked like Zimmer was ready to throw down his headset and battery pack and mix it up after Joyner knocked Bridgewater out of the game. Zimmer called the blow a “cheap shot” in his press conference.
Bridgewater, who was knocked out for several seconds after the elbow hit his head and his head hit the ground, has a concussion. He’ll have to receive clearance from an independent neurologist to play at Oakland next week.

that was a crazy one but Ben sure gets hurt a lot for being such a tough QB We all know karma's a bitch. Greg Hardy's MCL is as nervous as a motherfucker. Wouldn't bother me if the bastard blew out all the ligaments in both knees... and had to have em amputated. It would make him easy to mark in prison.

For that matter - the Bucs and Falcons could have nice comebacks and I would be happy also.

And ATL settles for a FG with 2:56 left. Let's see how that works out.

Gabbert bootlegs to a first down at the two minute warning. Giants are draining the clock.
My afternoon picks are in the crapper.

And... Big Ben is helped off the field. Don't go away people... I'm not on a suicide watch yet. Next week is against the Brownies and then they have a bye week. Ben should be good to go when they pick it up after the bye. I almost smashed my TV over the bogus calls the Refs were making at the end of the game. They called back a big gain for a nonexistent pass interference and then they called roughing the passer for a legal tackle on the Oakland QB. Still fuming of the non call that got Ben on the DL for 4 weeks so that made it all that much harder. They pulled it out though.

Year in and year out the Cowboys seem to be just good enough to stay in contention but not good enough to take it over the top. I think if JJ would step back and let the people who know what they're doing run the show it would be a lot better. He's like Oakland Al Davis was, he's got to have his hands in everything.

Well - that ship sailed long ago. Jerry isn't going to change. The problem this season as opposed to past ones is pretty simple. With Romo out, the offense has to be competitive. Some weeks they are - others, not so much. And - the defense needs to step up and stop the other team when it matters. And - they don't. They didn't against NO... they didn't against the Giants... they didn't against Seattle... and they didn't again last night. It's easy to point the finger at Jerry. Hell - I do it all the time (particularly the middle one). But supposedly, they are better on defense. If they actually were, they would be 4-4 right now with a shot at doing something when Romo gets back instead of 2-6 and all but eliminated. That's on the entire organization. Not just Jerry.

Meh - keep it perspective. Eagles scored a TD when Lee went down with a concussion and Eagles came right after his replacement. McFadden is healthy, but the O-Line really hasnt played the best esp. during Pass protection. We really havent had a full compliment of players this season. We have gotten crushed with injuries and caught out there without viable NFL quality replacements. WR Williams sucks! This is the 3rd game where he fancies himself as Dez 2.0 but fails to haul in a pass that is clearly catchable. He is not clutch in the least bit. Or reliable for that matter. I am not a fan of the play calling at all. If Im a philly fan I wouldnt hang my hat on that victory.....

Right up to the point I compared 2nd place in the NFC East to second place in an Ugly Baby Contest. Giants are gonna win this thing. It ain't gonna get them a Bye.

Most times I discount injuries as an excuse but Dallas has had three years worth in one season. When they finally have Romo and Bryant both back, I think that the division will still be within the Cowboys grasp. If you look at my recent posts here and on the daily you will see my feelings about Williams...

A ways back Jimmy J. said the Giants would win this NFC East simply because they have the best QB left in the race. Who knows. We are where we are because we have been decimated by injuries; not because we went out and got all Chip Kelly players only to realize the whole thing stinks. I am just glad we never paid Demarco.

Living in Delaware I only get to see Dallas on occassion unless I head to a sports bar; which living in the greater Philly metropolitan area; I would rarely do. The regulars around here will tell you; hockey and football are the last bastions of sports for me. And football is sliding rapidly. I cant stand all the bullshit, taunting, and chest thumping over the fact that the player did what he was paid a gazillion dollars to do. Anyhew, Williams is just that shit head player in my book. Always smiling, smirking, talking jibberish and then drops the damn ball in the most important of circumstances. He blows. Beas is far outplaying him in my book. I am not sure what the hell the play calling is about. How in an NFC East game you get away from your TE, is beyond me.

I won a game in fantasy this week because my opponent had Witten and they would not throw anything for him. All your other points are water tight too. I hate all the bullshit you described here. And in both FBS and NFL I absolutely cannot stand the replay. The delays are intolerable. Even the participants have no clue with regard to what is reviewable and and what is not. If they don't fucking know, how is even the most ardent fan supposed to know?
