I remember there were some posters on SportsHoopla that would get their ability to send private messages taken away & be restricted from visiting certain forums just for posting here, even if they weren't bashing SportsHoopla. You'll likely never see anyone on SportsHoopla who has joined more recently than 2015 for 2 reasons, 1) they assume all new members are alts/trolls 2) why would anyone join a sports message board with that much drama? I think, and bigddude can correct me, he banned BigD for telling hooplans about this board. It's like banning Boo Radley.I laughed... |

They aren't the most intelligent group out there. Most of them live in backwards backwater states & most of them never even went to college, which is why so many of them root for colleges that they never attended. When you can't talk about sports on a sports message board, it quickly becomes a troll haven. Drama across the boards.Hate and racism everywhere,stalking,no sports discussion and no moderation. Hell the mods are a source of a lot of the drama. I had enough when we were trying to talk hockey during the playoffs and people were more concerned with personal attacks. Honestly I cant see anyone wanting to sign up there. And I see them going out fast. I owe you for waking me up and yanking me out of that hellhole No problem, I saw the writing on the wall last December when I saw the stats of how many members left, how much ad revenue dropped, & how much the domain value fell. No business could survive just steep declines in such a short amount of time. You could buy a brand new car, take it off the lot, & get into multiple accidents with it & it wouldn't lose as much value as SportsHoopla has in the past year. I always liked Hammer, but I lost a lot of respect for him after seeing what he did to that place. Looking back, he should've sold it to OlympicOscar when he had the chance. |

It just defies logic to me how someone who supposedly aspires to "make money" on a website sees alienating entire groups of people under the guise of "turmoil sells" might work short term but in the long run its just not good business. And letting the inmates run the asylum only aggravates the entire sour experience.
That place is a toilet. They can seriously go fuck themselves.

And letting the inmates run the asylum only aggravates the entire sour experience. That place is a toilet. They can seriously go fuck themselves. Unfortunately, I think message boards in general are dying. I think you're right, with so many social media alternatives, it's kind of pointless to post on a message board these days. That's why big companies like ESPN & Sports Illustrated did away with their message boards. Just wasn't worth the trouble. |

No way anyone could succeed on any job if their boss is always watching over their shoulders like that. I think a good owner needs to be as hands off as possible and let the coaches/GM's take care of things. Unfortunately, I don't see Jerry Jones doing that. Even during the 1990s, he was a bit too involved in things (Cowboys probably could've been the greatest dynasty ever if he had just let Jimmy Johnson do his thing). Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what happened to the Raiders under Al Davis as well, and Jerry Jones has basically become the new Al Davis. |

Its like they thrive on drama Ive been mimicking the way they behave. And they still won't ban me. I think I made it pretty clear I don't want to be A part of that site anymore. Its just toxic now.Its kind of sad its like its all they have smh Well... I wish you well in your endeavors. I can say with complete honesty that once I removed the bookmarks from that place last year, I haven't gone back even to lurk. Just like I deleted my Facebook account a couple of weeks ago. Drama on the Internet is something I have absolutely zero use for. It's what I've appreciated about Zig and this place.
