Never been a big Jeter basher but it's kinda painful to watch him this year... The first month of Derek Jeter's final season was a disappointment. The second day of the second month birthed one of the worst games of his career, an 0-for-7 stinker that personified much of his farewell tour: a lot of ground balls and weak contact, negligible ability to pull the ball. The distinct lack of pull is the most telling sign – and the one that backs up the scouts' reports. It's not entirely a paucity of bat speed, they said, though that is a factor. Jeter, who for his entire career has strode with a fairly closed stance, is tilting his front shoulder even more toward the right side of the field. When he does pull the ball, it's either a huge mistake by the pitcher or a happy accident for Jeter. There’s a good reason only three of his 23 hits have gone for extra bases (all doubles) among a meager .240/.311/.271 line. sports.yahoo.com/news/10-degrees--derek-jeter-drawing-screams-on-the-panic-scale-162557652.html

CC Sabathia placed on DL with knee injury
Yankees placed LHP CC Sabathia on the 15-day disabled list with a right knee injury. Sabathia complained of pain in the knee after Saturday's start and underwent an MRI. The exam came back clean, but it showed some fluid buildup that needs to be drained. It sounds like he should be fine to return when first eligible. Alfredo Aceves will replace Sabathia in the rotation. Source: Mark Feinsand on TwitterMay 11 - 12:42 PM
that's a shame

Yankees manager Joe Girardi indicated Sunday that Michael Pineda (shoulder) is likely to be sidelined longer than four weeks. Pineda was given a 3-4 week timetable when he was diagnosed with a right shoulder muscle injury late last month, but it sounds like he'll be out longer than that. The right-hander did have a successful game of catch from 60 feet Saturday, so he's progressing. David Phelps will continue to fill Pineda's spot in the rotation. Yeah. I agree. He's done. He's a mediocre SS who can hit about .250 and that's about all he is. If he's smart he'll retire soon.

fucking yankee fans!
The woman at the center of the Donald Sterling racism scandal, the ex-Los Angeles Clippers owner’s gal pal V Stiviano, was badly beaten up by two white men in New York City on Sunday night, her lawyer has confirmed exclusively to RadarOnline.
Around 7pm, as Stiviano was leaving the Gansevoort Hotel in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, “two white men descended on her,” attorney Mac Nehorary said.
“They were about 5’7 and they knew exactly who she was. They began to hit her and called her the N word.
“Other disgusting slurs were made against her. She was able to run away and several onlookers then began attempting to apprehend the two men.”

Yankee fans ruining the allstar game. Last tally Ellsbury was a starter and Beltran had the 4th most votes for an outfielder. Fan base has no shame.

I saw that last night. Everyone was booing Cano at the stadium. That guy got up and was the only one applauding. The guys in the booth were praising him.

Yes we already covered Jeter. But there's no Yankees fans here (real ones anyway) that are here to defend him. It's like watching paint dry.
